Case Study

Vallum Farm

Branding

Project scope

When we worked with Vallum Farm, it was a vibrant community of food producers who gathered together on a family farm in Northumberland with a shared ethos and commitment to traditional, local produce.

Having opened a Tea Room & Ice Cream Parlour in 2005, the community expanded with the creation of the Vallum Kitchen Garden – which supplied herbs and vegetables to kitchens on the farm, to Vallum Bakery and Vallum Little Dairy.

The group needed a modern brand to represent this ethos, and help promote the farm to the public as a destination for traditional, high-quality and local food.

Brand recognition

Our clean, contemporary branding helped the business position itself as The Gateway to Hadrian’s Wall – appealing to tourists as well as local people, while promoting each element as an individual proposition and part of the collective group.

Business growth

The rebrand had an immediate positive impact – increasing interest from businesses looking to move on the site while also increasing footfall.

Vallum later went on to create a stunning wedding and events venue, which added greater depth to the business and allowed us to return to the brand and create marketing materials and branding for the new venture.

Website redesign and production

The website, a central part of the marketing strategy, needed to reflect the philosophies and ethos of the farm and its individual parts while being flexible enough to adapt to the change as new businesses moved to the site and new venues opened.

Client feedback

“Offstone’s branding was exactly what was needed and was the start of our development plan at Vallum to the destination that it is today.”
